Lab Tech is Honored for 50-Plus Years of Service
Dozens of Miller School staff and faculty turned out Friday to bid farewell and say thank you to pathology lab technician Arturo Monteil, the Miller School's longest serving employee. Monteil, who began working at the Miller School in January 1960, more than 50 years ago, received a certificate of appreciation for his dedicated and meritorious service from UM President Donna E. Shalala, Miller School Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D., and Richard Cote, M.D., professor and chair of pathology, at a breakfast held in his honor on the patio at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Second from left, he is flanked by, from left, David Andrews, M.D., associate professor of clinical pathology, Cote, and Bernard Steele, M.D., professor of pathology.
