Special Miami Transplant Institute Grand Rounds Presentation and
Celebration of 40 Years of Excellence
The Miami Transplant Institute will host a special Grand Rounds by transplant pioneer David E.R. Sutherland, M.D., Ph.D., professor of surgery and director of the Schulze Diabetes Institute at the University of Minnesota, tomorrow (Wednesday) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lois Pope LIFE Center, seventh-floor auditorium. Dr. Sutherland will present "Forty Years of Transplantation: Perspectives on the Past and Projections on the Future."
Following Grand Rounds, Alan S. Livingstone, M.D., professor and chair of surgery, will be joined by transplant surgeons George W. Burke III, M.D., Si M. Pham, M.D., and Andreas G. Tzakis, M.D., Ph.D., and will lead the 40-year celebration of transplantation at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center and discuss milestones, changes in transplant surgery and research over the past 40 years.
