On March 13, join thousands of Pap Corps members, their families, friends and community walkers, all united in support of cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of UHealth - University of Miami Health System. Hosted by the Papanicolaou Corps for Cancer Research, the 10th Annual Pap Corps Walkathon and Health Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Florida Atlantic University, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton. Volunteers should report at 8 a.m.
Last year, more than 2,500 participants walked the FAU campus to raise money for Sylvester. The walkathon is an important fundraising and community outreach event, which has traditionally raised more than $200,000 a year to fund vital cancer research at Sylvester. For a $15 registration fee, all participants will receive a t-shirt, water, breakfast, entertainment and access to the health fair. The health fair will feature free screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose), a technology tent, an activities tent, and "Ask the Experts" exhibits with physicians and staff from Sylvester and the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics, Sylvester at Deerfield Beach, and UHealth at Boca Raton.
