Surgical Grand Rounds: “Surgeons, Innovation & Industry—Balancing Competing Interests”
Please join us for Surgical Grand Rounds this Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Rosenstiel Medical Science Building, fourth-floor auditorium. Mary McGrath, M.D., M.P.H., professor of surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, will present "Surgeons, Innovation & Industry -- Balancing Competing Interests." At the conclusion of the lecture, participants will be able to recognize the competing interests surgeons face in a relationship with industry, consider the historical background of the relationship and current legal and ethical challenges, and explore ways of resolving the competing demands of maintaining scientific integrity, and preserving surgical innovations.
