Psychiatry Grand Rounds: “Culturally-Informed Therapy for Schizophrenia”
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences will present Grand Rounds this Friday from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Mailman Center for Child Development, eighth-floor auditorium. Amy Weisman de Mamani, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology, will present "Culturally-Informed Therapy for Schizophrenia." By attending, participants will learn the importance of collaboration with family, drawing upon spiritual- and religious-based techniques and interventions, and using culturally informed interventions that are relevant to the patient's ethnicity, religion and gender when treating schizophrenia.
