Epidemiology and Public Health Grand Rounds: “Computers Helping Families Help Lung Cancer Patients:
Impact on Quality of Life and Survival"
The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health is delighted to host David Gustafson, Ph.D., research professor of industrial and systems engineering and director of the Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for Grand Rounds this Thursday at noon in the Broad-Bussell Auditorium, located on the first floor of the Clinical Research Building. Gustafson's presentation, "Computers Helping Families Help Lung Cancer Patients: Impact on Quality of Life and Survival," will address an NCI-funded clinical trial examining the impact on patient symptom recovery, quality of life and survival, and the Comprehensive Health Enhancement Support System (CHESS), a web-based system providing patients with disease-specific information, emotional support and skill building tools. Gustafson also will speak about the future role of laptops and other mobile devices.
