Epidemiology and Public Health Grand Rounds: “The Recession is Wearing Me Out! Health-Related
Quality of Life and Economic Downturns"
Michael French, Ph.D., professor of sociology, economics, and epidemiology and public health, will present epidemiology and public health Grand Rounds tomorrow (Wednesday) from noon to 1 p.m. at the Clinical Research Building, room 989. Dr. French's research suggests that health-related quality of life, both physical and mental, worsens with increases in the unemployment rate, and the current worldwide economic recession may have some serious hidden costs. His lecture is titled "The Recession is Wearing Me Out! Health-Related Quality of Life and Economic Downturns."
