Testimonials

By Sam Palmer Shields, Programs Manager, The Launch Pad

I sought guidance from the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) during a period of significant personal and professional transition. I was contemplating a major life decision – relocating to a new state to pursue a new relationship – and felt the need for external perspective and support. This marked my first experience with therapy, and it proved invaluable in helping me understand my motivations, process my emotions, and ultimately make an informed decision.

Pilar, my counselor, provided a safe and supportive space for me to explore my thoughts and feelings in depth. Her empathy, kindness, and expertise were instrumental in helping me navigate the complexities of this decision. Through our sessions, I gained valuable insights into my thought patterns and learned to recognize and address underlying anxieties.

Beyond individual counseling, I actively participated in various FSAP workshops and seminars, further enriching my understanding of mental well-being and personal growth. These experiences provided me with a comprehensive overview of the valuable resources and support offered by the program.

The FSAP has been an invaluable resource throughout my journey. I am incredibly grateful for the support and guidance I received during a challenging time. The program's comprehensive approach, encompassing individual counseling, workshops, and readily accessible resources, fosters a supportive and inclusive environment for all faculty and staff. I wholeheartedly recommend the FSAP to anyone seeking to improve their mental well-being and enhance their overall quality of life.
