The Miller School  is throwing a team captain kickoff party for the 2010 Miami-Dade Start! Heart Walk this Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Medical Wellness Center.

And on Thursday, September 9, Ralph Sacco, M.D., professor and chair of neurology and president of the American Heart Association, and Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D., will host a pre-Heart Walk event with goodies and giveaways, also at the Medical Wellness Center, from noon to 1 p.m.

The Heart Walk will be held October 30 on FIU's west Miami-Dade campus and will include a 5K walk and fun festival for the entire family. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. 

The Miller School would like to have its teams in place before September 15.
