Third Annual University of Miami Cardiovascular Research Symposium
This Friday, the faculty of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology's NHLBI Training Program in Cardiovascular Signaling will be hosting the third annual Cardiovascular Research Symposium at 11 a.m. at University of Miami Hospital, Seminar Center. The collaborative forum will provide outstanding opportunities to promote cutting-edge science in laboratories, clinics and classrooms across UM and the South Florida cardiovascular community.
Trainees, fellows and faculty are invited to present, discuss and interact with recognized leaders from basic science and clinical cardiovascular disciplines. Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D., Joshua Hare, M.D., professor of medicine and director of the Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute, and Joy Lincoln, Ph.D., assistant professor of molecular and cellular pharmacology, will host an evening session starting at 5 p.m., which will include a keynote address by Elizabeth McNally, M.D., Ph.D., professor of medicine and human genetics and director of the Institute for Cardiovascular Research and the Cardiovascular Genetics Clinic at the University of Chicago. There also will be a special presentation by Steven E. Lipshultz, M.D., professor and chair of pediatrics. James D. Potter, Ph.D., professor of molecular and cellular pharmacology, will present opening remarks.
