Project SHARE Seminar: “HIV Does Not Cause AIDS—Why We Should Care About AIDS Denialism”
The Miller School's Project SHARE (Sharing HIV/AIDS Research Efforts) will host a seminar for HIV planners and policy-makers this Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education auditorium located on the first floor of the Clinical Research Building. Seth Kalichman, Ph.D., author of Denying AIDS: Conspiracy Theories, Pseudoscience, and Human Tragedy and professor of social psychology at the University of Connecticut, will present "HIV Does Not Cause AIDS -- Why We Should Care About AIDS Denialism."
Project SHARE represents a collaborative effort between the NIDA-funded University of Miami Developmental Center for AIDS Research, the Miami-Dade County Health Department, and the Broward County Health Department. Through a series of seminars, they aim to strengthen the linkages between HIV/AIDS researchers and practitioners within the South Florida community.
The event is free and lunch will be served. Seating is limited and seats will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Please RSVP by contacting Victoria Elf at 305-243-3210 or VElf@med.miami.edu.
