Office of Research Compliance Conflicts of Interest Seminar Series
The integrity of scholarship and the scientific record requires that scholars and researchers uphold the highest scientific and ethical standards. UM's current policy and practice reflects our shared commitment to ensure that the design, conduct and reporting of scholarly activity and research are not biased. As relationships between academic institutions and private industries become increasingly complex, we must continually reassess the manner in which we assure that scholarly activity and research at UM are unbiased.
The Office of Research Compliance is sponsoring a series of seminars on conflicts of interest in research. The objectives of the seminars are to provide a refresher on UM's conflict of interest policy and the process for identifying potential conflicts of interest in sponsored research; review regulations proposed by the National Institutes of Health; and gather feedback from the research community.
Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to attend one of the following seminars: • Wednesday, August 18, 10 to 11 a.m., Dominion Tower, twelfth-floor conference room • Tuesday, September 7, 2 to 3 p.m., Clinical Research Building, room 989
Please register through ULearn. For questions, please contact the Office of Research Education and Training at 305-243-5092 or ResEDU@med.miami.edu.
