UM/Florida Bioethics Network Spring 2010 Conference: "Florida Bioethics: Debates, Decisions, Solutions"
The 18th annual "Florida Bioethics: Debates, Decisions, Solutions" conference is this Friday at 7:45 a.m. at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa on Miami Beach. In addition to a discussion by Miller School Dean Pascal J. Goldschmidt, M.D., and FIU Wertheim College of Medicine Dean John Rock, M.D., on the role of human rights in professional education, the program will feature the head of Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration and sessions on public health emergencies, organ transplantation and the role of ethics committees. The conference, the largest of its kind in the country, is sponsored jointly by the Florida Bioethics Network and the University of Miami Ethics Programs. The program is free to all UM fulltime students, faculty and staff, but attendees must preregister. Continuing education credits are available for physicians, nurses, psychologists and lawyers.
