Analytical Imaging Core Facility Seminar Series
The Analytical Imaging Core Facility will host a seminar series tomorrow (Wednesday) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, conference room 1301. Maya Everett, Ph.D., laser scanning microscopy specialist at Carl Zeiss MicroImaging Inc., will present "Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscopy and HR-SIM/PAL-M: State-of-the-Art in Fluorescence Nanoscopy" at 11:30 a.m., followed by "Everything you Need to Know About Using State-of-the-Art Fluorescence Proteins for Your Experiments," presented by Scott Olenych, Ph.D., at 12:30 p.m.
The lectures are in conjunction with the Zeiss Laser TIRF 3 system demonstration taking place until this Friday. The key feature of the new system is that it allows five times thinner optical sections than confocal microscopy -- improving signal to noise ratio. For more information on the system or to schedule a presentation for your lab, please contact George McNamara, Ph.D., at 305-243-8436 or gmcnamara@med.miami.edu.
