The Third Annual Climate and Health Symposium will be held on May 11. The theme this year is “health effects of extreme weather” which will focus on direct and indirect health effects of extreme weather, such as hurricanes, heat waves, drought and flood, and their persistence. One Health Initiative is a new competitive program that will select and fund up to four transdisciplinary teams in 2019 to design, implement and evaluate actionable community-based projects on sustainable food systems. This initiative will provide seed funding for projects such as pilot studies, feasibility testing, needs assessments and planning grants. Each selected team will receive a $20,000 One Planet.
