Celebrate UM Tradition & Give a Gift this Holiday
Every year, the Butler Center for Service and Leadership coordinates a cherished University of Miami tradition—the Hurricanes Holiday Gift Drive. During this time of year, our students, staff, faculty, and administration come together to donate new toys and gifts for deserving children and senior citizens in South Florida.
This year, we are hoping to reach our goal of 1,000 donated gifts! We invite you and/or your student organization to help support the Hurricanes Holiday Gift Drive.
Wondering how you can get involved?
- Drop off new and unused toys and gifts to the Whitten University Center Lower Lounge or the Butler Center for Service and Leadership located in the Shalala Student Center Suite 204 on the Coral Gables Campus.
- Support the program through a sponsorship, and we will coordinate gifts on your organization’s behalf! This can be done through a transfer of funds via your organization's Non-SAFAC account.
- Become a sponsor and provide gifts to senior citizens within the community. We will provide you with tags for senior citizens with their specific requests for the holiday season.
- If your organization has a student organization suite, request a collection bin to be placed in your office.
This year’s gifts will be donated to our partners with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Hope for Miami, Just Kids Center, Inc., and Home Instead Senior Care.
If you are interested in getting involved with the Gift Drive and/or if you have questions, please contact the Butler Center for Service and Leadership at leadandserve@miami.edu or call 305-284-4483.
