Student Ticket Information
All University of Miami students who have paid their athletics fee are eligible to attend all home football games free of charge. To gain entry to the game, you must enter at the Northwest Gate, where your Cane Card will be swiped. There is no need to login and activate your card as it has already been activated for you. If you have any questions, please call the Hurricane Ticket Office at 305-284-2263.
UBus Shuttles
UM provides FREE student rides to Hurricanes home football games at Hard Rock Stadium. Buses for freshmen participating in Freshmen Walk will begin leaving from Stanford Circle at 9am. Buses for all other students will begin leaving at 9:30am. Buses will begin returning to campus from the stadium at halftime, and the last bus will leave the stadium 30 minutes after the end of the game.
- Buses are free and only for UM students and student guests with a student section ticket.
- A ‘Cane Card ID or student section ticket is required to board the bus.
- All fans will be subject to security screening upon entrance to Hard Rock Stadium including metal detection and bag check.
- Backpacks are not allowed and students must follow the NFL Stadium Bag Policy.
- NO food, drinks, or umbrellas will be allowed on the bus or in the stadium.
- Students may bring a sealed or empty water bottle, 16oz or smaller.
- Students cited for disciplinary issues are subject to being banned from riding UBus and banned from attending UM home games for the remainder of the season.
Student Fan Zone 
Prior to each home game, the Division of Student Affairs, the Department of Student Activities & Student Organizations, Student Government and Category 5 will be hosting a Student Fan Zone at Hard Rock Stadium’s North Plaza. This week’s Fan Zone will take place from 9:30am – 12pm, and will feature free food from Shorty’s BBQ and Dunkin’ Donuts, along with music, games and other giveaways. The Fan Zone is open to all students, and a valid Cane Card is required to enter. Alcohol is not permitted in the Student Fan Zone.
Freshmen Walk
Category 5 is proud to offer freshmen the opportunity to participate in an exciting tradition! Freshmen Walk is an event that gives freshmen the opportunity to walk the field at Hard Rock stadium prior to the first football game of the semester. A Freshmen Walk credential will be provided to all participants after they check-in, and is required to enter the field. Check in for freshmen will start at 9:30am at the Student Fan Zone on the North Plaza. At 10:30am, freshmen will enter the Stadium and begin to head to the Freshmen Walk launch point. The official walk begins at 11:00am, after which students will be escorted to the Student Section of Hard Rock Stadium.
Gameday Shirts
Be sure to purchase your official 2017 Gameday Shirt! Shirts are on sale now for only $3, and all proceeds benefit the United Way. Shirts can be purchased at the Department of Student Activities & Student Organizations (SC 206), the UC Info Desk & the Wellness Center Pro Shop.
Student Conduct
The University’s Code of Conduct applies to UM students in all locations. This includes Hard Rock Stadium, the stadium grounds, and all UBus areas. Students cited for any of the following disruptive behaviors will be referred to the Dean of Students Office and banned from attending future UM home football games:
- Ejection
- Arrest
- Alcohol citations
- Medical transport due to intoxication
- Disorderly conduct
We expect our fans to be passionate. We also expect you to remember that you are University of Miami students and are responsible for your actions. If you engage in any of the behaviors listed above, you will not be able to attend future UM home football games. Enjoy the excitement of attending UM home football games, but please do so with the same class and character you display in the classroom.
Student Tailgate (Lot 10) Rules
- Music – Student tailgates will be required to follow stadium policies prohibiting professional DJ setups in the parking lots. Music, in general, must be played at a reasonable volume.
- Panel trucks – i.e. UHaul-type moving trucks are not allowed by Hard Rock Stadium Parking. This is not a new rule, but one that is now being strictly enforced by Parking.
- Tailgate Ban – There are two primary ways your tailgate will be shut down and your group or party banned from tailgating: First, anyone found standing on vehicles/truck beds, etc. will be ejected; Secondly, anyone found throwing cans, bottles, projectiles, etc., will be ejected.
- Alcohol – Florida’s Div. of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (ABT) will again be present to police the student tailgate lot for underage possession of alcohol.
Stadium Entry
- Students enter the game at the Northwest entrance of the stadium.
- Students must enter the game by the end of the first quarter.
- Student section seating is general admission and seats are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Students will be given a wristband upon entry to the stadium allowing them access into the student section, when the lower capacity is reached, wristbands for the upper level will be distributed.
- Please note that rows 1-10 in sections 105-111 are not student seats.
Stadium Bag Policy
Fans may only bring the following into the stadium:
- One bag that is clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and does not exceed 12” by 6” and 12” or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
- In addition to one of the clear bags noted above, fans may also carry in a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.
- Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at Gate E designated for this purpose.
- Diapers and wipes can be carried in a clear bag. Each member of a family, including children, will be able to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse, providing ample storage capacity.
Uber/Taxi/Rideshare
- Hard Rock Stadium will have a designated pick-up and drop-off location in Lot 14 across the turnpike entrance.

- No personal cars, taxis or ridesharing service will be allowed on Stanford Drive on game day. All riders should use Miller Circle or your on-campus residence for pick-up and drop-off.
