With only a few weeks left until you arrive on campus, this email provides a few updates about what to expect on your move-in day and how to send packages to campus ahead of your arrival.
The latest information about move-in is always available at miami.edu/housing/move-in.
Move-in arrival day
Remember to view your assigned move-in day on our website. You will not be assigned a specific arrival time, so feel free to arrive at your residential area between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. on your assigned day. To help ensure a smooth and safe move-in process for everyone, only arrive to campus on your assigned day.
Arriving to campus
Upon arriving to campus, check in at your residential area’s front desk. Remember to bring your ’Cane Card with you. If you have lost your card, please visit ’Canes Central for a replacement.
Please note, only two family members are permitted to help you get settled into your new space. More specific details about your arrival day, including additional guidance related to COVID-19 health measures, will be shared soon.
Sending mail and packages to campus
We can begin receiving resident mail and packages as of Monday, Aug. 9, and items received before that date will be returned to sender.
For University Village residents: Mail and package information has been updated on our website.
For Eaton, Mahoney, Pearson, and Lakeside Village residents: All resident mail and packages are sent to and managed by the on-campus The UPS Store located within Lakeside Village. Although all mail is sent to the same address regardless of where you live on campus, you are assigned a unique mailbox number, which is now available in the On-Campus Housing Portal via CaneLink. All mail and packages must be sent to the correct address and include your mailbox number to avoid being lost or returned to sender.
REQUIRED ACTION: In order for mail to be received by The UPS Store, you are required to submit USPS Form 1583 along with two forms of identification (examples listed on the form) to The UPS Store. You can submit these materials when picking up your first mail or packages. This form is a requirement of the United States Postal Service, but only needs to be completed once during your time as a resident student. Contact The UPS Store at store7285@theupsstore.com with questions reagrding this form.
More information about sending and receiving mail and packages is available on our website.
