Preparing for Fall Internships

Securing an internship can be a game-changer in your career. Here are key steps to help you get started: 

  1. Do Your Research: Use platforms like SoC Jobs Board, Handshake, LinkedIn, and industry-specific job boards to find opportunities that align with your career goals. 
  2. Tailor Your Resume and Cover Letter for each application. Highlight relevant experiences, skills, and accomplishments that match the job description.
  3. Network Actively: Reach out to industry professionals, connect with alumni, and conduct info interviews. Networking can open doors to unadvertised opportunities. 
  4. Prepare for Interviews: Practice common interview questions and develop your STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) method for answering behavioral questions. Research the company thoroughly to ask insightful questions. 
  5. Utilize Your Career Resources: Schedule an appointment with the SoC Stein Family Career Office for resume reviews, mock interviews, or general career counseling. We're here to support you every step of the way. 
  6. Follow Up: After interviews, send thank-you emails to express your appreciation and reiterate your interest in the postion.

AgAir: Avitation Solutions for Agriculture

NASA Aeronautics' Gateways to Blue Skies competition asks collegiate student teams to conceptualize novel aviation-related system(s) that can be applied to agriculture by 2035 or sooner with the goal of improving production, efficiency, environmental impact, and extreme weather/climate resilience.

**Teams are encouraged to consider high-potential technologies and systems that aren't currently mainstream or highly regarded as becoming mainstream in the future, and imagine beyond applying sensors to aviation systems.

Finalist teams will receive an $8,000 stipend to facilitiate full parrticipation in the Blue Skies Forum at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center at the end of May 2025.
