- In this class, distinguished judges, journalists, business leaders
and debate professors explain how they create dialogue and deliberation about difficult issues.

Narratively is accepting submissions for their 2024 Memoir Prize, seeking emotional, first-person nonfiction from unique perspectives. The Grand Prize Winner will receive $3,000, and two Finalists will win $1,000 each. Submissions (2,000–7,000 words) are due by December 19 via Narratively's Submittable form. A $20 entry fee applies, waived for paid subscribers.
Winners’ work will be published on Narratively.com and featured in a special Memoir Prize Digital Collection. Jami Attenberg, New York Times bestselling author, will judge the competition. Submissions are open globally, and winners will be announced by February 27, 2025.

NAHJ’s premiere training program for student journalists is now accepting applications for 2025. Many journalists, leaders and educators got their start through the project. NAHJ was the first diverse journalism organization to create a conference newsroom training opportunity for students. Apply here.
Scholarships
NAHJ has awarded nearly $2 million in scholarship dollars since the program began! Scholarships are granted to graduate and undergraduate students who plan to work in English and/or Spanish-language journalism on whichever platform they choose. Apply here.

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Community Outreach invites undergraduate students to apply to present their research at the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Meeting of the Minds Undergraduate Research Conference which will be taking place March 28 – 30, 2025 at the University of Pittsburgh. This is a great opportunity for undergraduates to present their research and network with students from other ACC universities.
All majors are eligible to apply. Selected participants will have all travel expenses covered, including travel, food, and lodging.
