Take a Look!

Open the Vault!

Get ahead on your job and internship search with the Toppel Career Center's Vault Career Intelligence career guides!

The Toppel Career Center offers digital copies of Vault books to every student. They show what top employers are looking for in applicants from almost every industry.

Take a look at their resume building skills from "The Vault Guide Resumes and Job-Hunting Skills":

  • If you use a template, think of it as a starting point and use one that allows you to make changes easily.
  • The best wording, descriptions, and formatting mean nothing without honesty.
  • Before you begin writing your resume, compile relevant information to have it available and in one place.
  • Make lists of all quantifiable outcomes from your professional and educational experience.
  • While you will not include it on your resume, note supervisors' names and their contact information. Keep this information in one location to use when filling out online job forms.
  • Make a list of any professional organizations to which you belong. Your involvement with the organization can show community involvement, a commitment to ongoing learning opportunities, and/or a dedication to moving your profession forward.

Meet Aly!

Aly Gómez

Meet Aly Gómez, a senior double majoring in communications and international studies with a minor in journalism! Aly interned with the Miami Marlins as an event coordinator during the Serie del Caribe.

Piece of Advice: "Prioritize personal and professional growth. Build technical and soft skills, stay curious, and use your network wisely. Maintaining a strong GPA and setting clear goals will position you as a top candidate. Ultimately, aim to be a well-rounded candidate so that job offers come down to whether you align with the company’s values, not just whether they like you."
