Updates to Enrollment Tracking Using REDCap

Updates have been made to the Enrollment Tracking Using REDCap policy in order to streamline and simplify the process for study teams across the University of Miami. Below is a summary of these updates:

  1. For non-cancer-related protocols and those not otherwise exAcluded (as detailed in the policy document), it is the responsibility of UM faculty and research personnel conducting human subject research studies to report their accruals on an annual basis.
  1. For research projects requiring Continuing Review, a REDCap survey must be completed at the time of Continuing Review to report aggregate accruals as of the last submitted Continuing Review. A notification with an institutional REDCap survey link will be sent to the Principal Investigator, Principal Investigator’s Proxy, Primary Contact, and Research Coordinator 30 days prior to the Continuing Review deadline.
  2. For research projects that do not require a Continuing Review, a REDCap survey must be completed annually by the end of February to report aggregate accruals as of the previous calendar year. A notification with an institutional REDCap survey link will be sent to the Principal Investigator, Principal Investigator’s Proxy, Primary Contact, and Research Coordinator every January.

Non-cancer-related protocols will no longer be receiving a link to an individual REDCap project. If you received a protocol-specific REDCap project link in the past and have already entered data, that project will remain open to ensure that you have continued access to your data. Projects that have no data will be deleted in the coming weeks.

No changes have been made to the process for cancer-related protocols that fall within the Enrollment Tracking Using REDCap policy. These protocols will continue to receive a link to individual accruals project in REDCap once IRB approval is received.

This update is only meant to notify study teams that changes to the policy have occurred. UM faculty and research personnel conducting human subjects research are required to be familiar with all aspects of the policy and reporting requirements.
