BANNED! was created as a direct response to book bans across the U.S., attempting to silence conversations around race, gender, sexuality, and other subjects deemed controversial. The curated library is now open for guests to sit and read. We invite you to occcupy the space and read more books!

Inspired by his travel to South Africa, Germane Barnes's Ukhamba, a ten-foot-tall circular structure weaves together African basket weaving practices and the architectural influences of Black diasporic communities. Barnes is the Principal of Studio Barnes and Director of the Master of Architecture Graduate Program at the University of Miami.
