In Celebration of Jen Posner - CCE Senior Manager for Policy & Programs

For Five Years of Service with our Office

The UM Office of Civic and Community Engagement is writing to share the news that our Senior Manager for Policy and Programs, Jennifer Posner, will be leaving our office at the end of the year to serve as Director of UM's new Climate Resilience Academy.

During her five years with our office, Jen has been instrumental in enhancing and expanding our office's online mapping and policy tools to address the impacts of climate change on Miami's most vulnerable communities. Jen helped oversee CCE’s Housing Resilience and a Sustainable South Florida initiative that focused on urban resilience strategies related to sea-level rise to protect our region's affordable housing stock. This project in turn led to the Climate and Equity Mapping Platform initiative that aimed to elevate the disproportionate burden that historically marginalized communities experience from rising temperatures. Most recently, Jen helped develop our Climate Gentrification project to examine historical policy decisions, projected climate conditions, and community development patterns to establish a shared understanding of climate gentrification that helps promote equity, community resilience, and environmental justice. Jen's dedication to empowering our office's staff and student employees, and collaborating with community partners and policymakers, has enabled our office to expand its reach and contribute to important conversations about South Florida's development future.  While Jen will be missed, we are gratified to know that she will bring her enthusiasm, dedication, and hard work to UM's Climate Resilience Academy.

With that, we are now looking for an exceptional seasoned program manager to join our team! Click here for the link to the position description!
