New Faces of the Mailman Community

We are excited to extend a warm welcome to our LEND trainees from August and September 2025. We're proud of the incredible work they're doing and the impact they’re already making. 

Anjali Agrawal - Discipline: Pediatrics 
Anjali holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree and is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree in Pediatrics. She was inspired to join LEND to learn how to advocate effectively for patients and to better understand how to approach problems when they arise.

Valerie Valledor - Discipline: Psychology
Valerie holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and is focused on strengthening her interdisciplinary and collaborative skills to become a well-rounded clinician. Through her participation in LEND, she is eager to learn how to be more collaborative in her work.

Fun fact: I was once in a salsa dancing music video!

Amanda Jensen - Discipline: Psychology
Amanda is a 3rd-year doctoral student in the Pediatric Health Track. Her clinical practicum experience and desire for further education inspired her to join the LEND program. She aims to develop her leadership abilities in a community context.

Fun fact: I boxed for 5 years! 

Van Hung Dang - Discipline: Pediatrics
Van holds an MD and joined the LEND program as part of his residency training requirements. He is eager to gain a deeper understanding of the program to better support his future patients.

Fun fact: My English name is "Andrea". It has the same meaning with my Vietnamese name

Casey Martin - Discipline: Audiology 
Casey holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Connecticut and is pursuing a Doctor of Audiology degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (expected 2026). Motivated by a strong commitment to supporting children and families with complex needs, she joined the LEND program to gain the tools needed for meaningful impact and systems-level change in audiology, healthcare, and public policy. She is eager to collaborate with professionals across disciplines to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care and grow as an advocate for children with severe disabilities.

Fun fact: I competed on Junior Team U.S.A. as a competitive figure skater, which gave me the incredible opportunity to represent our nation while traveling and performing internationally.

Geraldine Cadet-Miller - Discipline: Psychology 
Geraldine holds a Master of Science in Psychology and joined the LEND program due to her strong interest in leadership and development. She is eager to think more critically about the barriers her patients face and gain insights that will help her address these challenges in her work.

Fun fact: I was born in Costa Rica!

Madison Drye - Discipline: Psychology
Madison is a clinical psychology doctoral trainee at the University of Miami, with clinical and research interests focused on improving developmental outcomes for children with neurodevelopmental differences. She joined the LEND program to enhance her leadership and advocacy skills in this field and is committed to improving her knowledge and engagement with advocacy for children and families affected by neurodevelopmental conditions, ultimately to better serve those she works with.

Fun fact: I played the baritone saxophone (which is almost four feet tall!) for several years as a kid.

Claudia Gonzalez - Discipline: Psychology
Claudia is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology and is currently participating in Dr. Leon’s ABA research lab. Inspired by Dr. Leon, who introduced her to this opportunity after hearing about her interest in applying to social work and ABA master’s programs, Claudia joined the LEND program to broaden her understanding of various disciplines. She hopes to learn how to view challenges through different lenses as she pursues her master’s degree.

Fun fact: Eight people in my family have attended the University of Miami!

Emma Jaisle - Discipline: Psychology
Emma is a 4th-year clinical psychology doctoral student with an M.S. in Psychology. She was inspired to join the program after her experience in the Mailman external clinical practicum. She is eager to increase her confidence in interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthen her ability to work effectively with professionals from diverse fields to enhance her clinical practice.

Fun fact: I love to cook!

Veronica Cortes - Discipline: Occupational Therapy 
Veronica is a student currently completing her Master's in Occupational Therapy. Her goal in joining the LEND program is learn how best to advocate for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. 

Fun fact: I met my boyfriend in the first grade. 

Rachel Chavez - Discipline: Psychology
Rachel is currently on her pre-doctoral internship while pursuing her PsyD from Florida Tech. Passionate about neurodevelopmental evaluation, she joined the LEND program to deepen her expertise in this area and integrate it into her future career. She is also eager to gain and practice leadership and advocacy skills alongside interdisciplinary providers.

Fun fact: I love to curate my own spin class routines! It motivates me to exercise and I find it so fun!
