Clinical Professor of Pediatrics & Physician-in-Chief, Holtz Children's Hospital
Dr. Pankaj Agrawal is a physician-scientist, director of the Division of Neonatology, and Physician-in-Chief for Holtz Children’s Hospital. His research focuses on applying genomics and multi-omics in neonatal care and uncovering the genetic and molecular bases of rare diseases, particularly congenital myopathies. He joined the University of Miami from Boston Children’s Hospital, where he was the Merton Bernfield Chair of Newborn Medicine and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, serving as Medical Director of the Manton Center Gene Discovery Core and Director of the Neonatal Genomics Program. He has authored over 175 publications in top journals, received NIH R01, U01, and K08 funding, and currently leads the R01-funded VIGOR project. A dedicated mentor, he has guided numerous fellows and junior faculty in launching their own research programs. His research aligns with that of investigators at the Mailman Center who are focused on understanding the contribution of genomics to neurodevelopmental disabilities and improving diagnosis and treatment.
