Trainee Spotlight

Farrah Meme

LEND/ETLP Alumni Highlight

Farrah Meme’s journey in advocacy began after her oldest child was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. She participated in two of Mailman’s leadership development programs. In 2019, she was a family trainee in LEND and the next year, in 2020, she participated as a fellow in our advanced 9-month leadership program, the Emerging Transformational Leadership Program (ETLP). Farrah’s experience inspired her to pursue her master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Barry University, which she completed in 2021.

Farrah’s background is in exceptional student education, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) K-12 and went on to be certified in Elementary Education K-6 and endorsed in Reading, ESOL and Autism (ASD). She has consistently worked in the school system for over 12 years. She is committed to her work of collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of families, physicians, nurses and clinicians that strive to educate, support and enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families.

During her time in ETLP, Farrah had her sights set on obtaining her master’s. She was working full-time, a mother of four, one child with a significant disability, and attending graduate school. She obtained her master’s degree from Barry University in Educational Leadership.

Farrah stated in an email to Ms. Baer, “I have such gratitude for the LEND and ETLP program, and I wanted to take a moment to share how much of an impact it has had. Because of that experience, I was inspired to start Morebility, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering families raising children with special needs throughout South Florida. Our mission is to ensure that no family feels alone in this journey by providing resources, advocacy, and a supportive community.”

Morebility has partnered with Able United and Levanti Wealth to provide a free virtual workshop on Financial Planning for Special Needs Families which will be taking place on Saturday, April 19th, 2025, from 11:00am - 1:00pm
