The Graduate School and the Office of Postdoctoral Programs are hosting the Fifth Annual Graduate + Postdoctoral Research Symposium on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 12:00-6:30pm at the Shalala Student Center on the Coral Gables Campus. Nearly 90 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will give TED-like talks, poster presentations, and oral presentations. The Educational Testing Service is offering a national scholarship opportunity designed to support a graduate student from an underrepresented group who is pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in mathematics education or a STEM discipline. The inaugural scholarship is named in honor of the late Bob Moses, a pioneering civil rights leader, and educator who founded The Algebra Project, a national U.S. mathematics literacy program aimed at helping low-income students and students of color achieve the mathematical skills in high school that are a prerequisite for success in college and beyond. Autism After 21 and the SOAR program will be coming to Miami-Dade county this summer on the FIU campus. The SOAR program is a 12-day residential opportunity for young adults on the autism spectrum. The program assists students who are transitioning from school to the community, work, and beyond. The SOAR Program works towards this with a curriculum designed to move transitioning young adults with neurodiversity onto employment, post-secondary education, and beyond!
