The Postdoc Affairs Offices at Northwestern University, the University of Chicago, and the University of Illinois Chicago are hosting the 2nd Annual Virtual Chicagoland Postdoc Recruitment Initiative on October 20-21, 2022. This is a collaborative initiative to improve diversity and inclusion at the three largest research universities in the Chicago area, with the goal of addressing the "pipeline" challenge in academia for historically marginalized graduate students and postdocs, including individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds. The University of Miami’s Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, Office of Civic and Community Engagement, and the Butler Center for Service and Leadership organize the Racial Justice Grant Program to support research, service, and/or programmatic activities that center on race, racial justice, and racial equity. They seek to support teams of students, faculty, staff, and community partners to implement tangible initiatives to fight racism. This position is 20 hours per week and will be paid a monthly stipend of $2,000. The term of the position will be from August 22, 2022, to May 13, 2023, and may be renewed annually. The Sallie Mae Fund, the charitable arm of Sallie Mae, announced it will again offer $100,000 in scholarships to students pursuing graduate degrees as part of the Bridging the Dream Scholarship for Graduate Students. In partnership with Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the Bridging the Dream Scholarship for Graduate Students helps minority students and those from historically underserved communities attend graduate school.
