The University of Miami Laboratory for INtegrative Knowledge (U-LINK) Climate and Racial Justice Team is launching a Climate Justice Grant Program to support research and activism in the areas of climate justice, environmental justice, and energy justice linked to racial justice. The program is designed to create an immediate impact, offer an extraordinary learning experience, and foster meaningful interdisciplinary collaboration. Students will be partnered with a community organization to assist the organization with a current project. Grant recipients will receive a stipend of $2,250 for at least 150 hours of project work ($15/hour). The application deadline is April 2, 2021.

The Department of Psychology is seeking a full-time Research Associate to join the Hispanic Community Health Study / Study of Latinos which is now beginning a Sexual and Gender Minority (SGM) ancillary study. The ancillary study will specifically focus on cardiovascular health disparities affecting Latinx/Hispanic SGM individuals, as well as the role of intersectional minority stress and resilience in shaping these disparities. The Research Associate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Public Health, or other related field.

The University of Miami Libraries offers introductory mindfulness sessions for cultivating calm and focus. These 60-minute sessions, held every Wednesday from 4:00-5:00 p.m., introduce the fundamentals of mindfulness with periods of guided practice and opportunities for reflection and questions. The Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program is now accepting applications for its annual funding program. The SCGSR program provides supplemental funds for graduate awardees to conduct part of their thesis research at a host Department of Energy laboratory/facility. Graduate students conducting research in Microelectronics, Data Science, Conservation Laws and Symmetries, and Accelerator Science are especially encouraged to apply.
