Dr. Taghrid Asfar, M.D., MSPH, assistant professor at the Miller School of Medicine, is working on a five-year study, funded by the Florida Department of Health's Ester King Biomedical Research Award, to adapt health warning labels on waterpipes in Florida. The research team is recruiting hookah smokers between 21-29 years-old to complete a confidential, brief survey and attend one focus group session via Zoom. Eligible participants will receive up to $66.00 in compensation for their time and effort.

The SCGSR program provides supplemental funds for graduate awardees to conduct part of their thesis research at a host DOE laboratory/facility. The Fondazione P.G.R. announces the first edition of its “Per Grazie Ricevute” Prize.
