Dr. Guillermo Prado Receives National Award for Research Excellence

Guillermo “Willy” Prado, Ph.D., Dean of the Graduate School, was recently honored by the National Hispanic Science Network with the National Award of Excellence in Research by a Senior Investigator. The prestigious award recognizes outstanding contributions to drug abuse research.

Apply for a Graduate Travel Scholarship by November 15!

Degree-seeking master's and doctoral students at the University of Miami are eligible to apply for a one-time travel scholarship of an amount up to $1,000 to present at a scholarly conference or to present and/or attend a professional meeting.

ETD Submission Deadlines in November

Students planning on submitting their ETD for Fall 2018 semester graduation must have defended their thesis, dissertation, doctoral essay, or lecture recital essay by November 2, 2018. The deadline to submit the full draft for formatting review to the Graduate School's Associate Director of Programs, Doreen Yamamoto, is November 16, 2018. Missed deadlines will result in your graduation being moved to the following semester.

Apply for the Chateaubriand Fellowship by January 8!

The Chateaubriand Fellowship call for applications for 2019-2020 academic year is now open. This fellowship offered by the Embassy of France in the United States allows Ph.D. students enrolled in American universities to conduct research in France for 4-9 months.
