Dear Colleagues,

As we prepare for hurricane season at home and at work, we wanted to share with you five simple ways you can prepare as a member of the University of Miami family.

  1. Managers should make appropriate emergency role designations in Workday for all direct reports. And all employees and managers should discuss specific storm-related expectations and responsibilities for their roles before, during and after a storm.
  2. Update your contact information in Workday to ensure that you receive critical and timely emergency and safety information from the University.
  3. Make sure all mobile numbers are correctly designated as "mobile" in Workday.
  4. Visit miami.edu/hurricane-prepare to learn about preparedness for hurricanes and other emergencies.
  5. Follow UM Emergency Management on social media at facebook.com/UMiamiENN and twitter.com/UMiamiENN for additional preparedness tips and timely updates during emergencies.

If you have questions or need additional information, go to prepare.miami.edu, or contact the Office of Emergency Management at 305-284-8005 or oem@miami.edu.  We cannot change the weather, but preparation will help us ride out any possible storm.
