Claude Now Available in Copilot Chat
We're excited to share an important update to Copilot that expands the artificial intelligence (AI) tools available to our University of Miami community.
Claude now available in Copilot Chat!
Claude (Sonnet), developed by Anthropic, is now available within the standard Copilot Chat experience. Available to all University users, this update marks another step forward in our goal to provide access to best-in-class AI capabilities through a single, trusted experience.
Access to leading AI models:
With the addition of Claude, the University's Copilot ecosystem now supports interaction with the top three, leading commercial AI models, including:
- OpenAI (GPT) – Available within most Copilot experiences
- Anthropic (Claude) – Now available in Copilot Chat
- Google (Gemini) – Available in Gemini on the web and within Google Notebook LM

Did you know? You have access to Nano Banana, the leading image generation AI model, through Gemini on the web! Simply access Gemini with your University of Miami account and click "Create image" to get started.

Why this matters:
Different AI models have different strengths. By expanding the models available through Copilot, we are: increasing flexibility for how users engage with AI; enabling experimentation across different reasoning and writing styles; and reducing the need to use external, non-University supported tools.
