Spring Updates: Parking & Mobility

Welcome to the Spring 2024 semester at the University of Miami! On behalf of the entire team at Parking & Transportation, we look forward to a productive and rewarding semester. To ensure a welcoming experience, please be advised of the following updates from the Office of Parking & Transportation.


Parking on Coral Gables Campus

Color zone restrictions will be reinstated on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. A valid University permit is required to park on campus from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.


Spring Permits Available for Purchase

Spring permits are currently available to purchase for certain zones. Log in to your parking portal and check for zone availability.


Hours of Operation – Parking & Transportation

The Parking & Transportation office hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.


Parking Color Zones – Updates

To maximize the utilization of our facilities, several changes have been made recently. Please take note of these changes and how they may affect you:

  • Red Zone Restriping
    • All zones have been seal-coated and restriped to improve the parking experience and standardize parking spot widths.
  • Yellow Zone Restriping
    • Lot 425N has been restriped to improve the parking experience.
  • Gray Zone Restriping
    • Restriping of Lots 714, 716, 717, and 718 to enhance lots.
  • Shuttle Stop Refresh
    • Repainting of Metrorail, Stanford, and Ponce de Leon stops.
  • Pay-By-Phone and Pay Station Options
    • Available in the gray, burgundy, yellow, and teal zones between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays and available in all color zones after 4 p.m. There are no time restrictions on weekends. Rates are $2.50/hr. or $11/day.

The University is committed to providing safe and reliable parking, and cost-efficient transportation to help make your commute a great experience. Below are ways you can navigate your way in and around the Coral Gables campus with convenient mobility options.

Hurry 'Canes Shuttle

The Hurry 'Canes shuttles will operate at full service during the semester, between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Click here for details on scheduled service.

To track the shuttles in real time, please download the UMiami app, available in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Let us know how we're doing via a survey for the Coral Gables Hurry 'Canes shuttles! Click here or scan the QR code located throughout the shuttles on your next ride to share your feedback.

Safe Ride

Safe Ride services will operate between 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. during the semester, except on holidays and during spring break in March.
