NEW HOMEBUYING RESOURCE TO SUPPORT EMPLOYEES: LANDED

May 25, 2022

Dear Colleagues,

This week, we launched a new option to help faculty and staff purchase a home.* Housing affordability near our campuses can be a challenge and Landed can offer support. Landed helps employees purchase homes by providing up to $120,000 toward a down payment through their shared equity down payment program and by connecting employees to homebuying resources.  EverCheck Logo

Participation in the Landed program is completely voluntary, and it will be up to each individual employee to determine whether they want to participate.

Landed’s down payment program is open to all University of Miami employees working 20+ hours/week — faculty and staff — and is available immediately. Participants do not need to be first time homebuyers and there are no income or asset limits needed to qualify.

INFO SESSIONS

Faculty and staff interested in purchasing a home utilizing the resources offered by Landed or learning more about the homebuying process are encouraged to attend an upcoming one-hour info session:

  • Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 5 PM, RSVP here.
  • Thursday, June 9, 2022, at noon, RSVP here.
  • Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 5:30 PM, RSVP here.
Employees who are unable to attend the info sessions can sign up to learn more and schedule a 1:1 consultation with Landed here.

HOW IT WORKS

Landed's shared equity down payment program invests alongside employees to help them reach a 20% down payment. Landed’s funds come in the form of an equity investment, meaning homebuyers share in a portion of the gain (or loss, if any) of the home’s value once the partnership is ended—typically by sale or refinance.

The down payment program is one piece of holistic homebuying support that Landed offers, including in-depth homebuyer education, access to a vetted real estate agent network, and comprehensive reviews of property reports to help homebuyers make informed homebuying decisions. Landed also offers an experienced homebuying team to help navigate the homebuying process, from financing, search, and close.

As we continue to navigate a volatile housing market in our local community, we hope this option can offer homebuying solutions.

Sincerely,

*The purchase of a home is an important and consequential decision. We urge you and your team members to conduct your own research before purchasing and/or financing a home and/or considering the financing options offered by Landed. The University of Miami is informing its employees of the availability of this possible financing option; because home purchases and financing requirements are unique, the University of Miami expresses no opinion as to whether the Landed financing option is appropriate or best suited for any particular individual.
