1 pm - Tropical Fruit Crush at the U Statue:Participate in a group picture/social media effort to raise awareness on healthy eating and access to fresh fruit and vegetables. Have a bite of our delicious tropical fruit!

"ROOTED IN OUR SCHOOLS: FOOD FORESTS and the FUTURE of SOUTH FLORIDA"
What if the key to a healthier South Florida is already growing in our elementary schools? For World Food Day 2026, join us as Debi La Belle and Eddie Recinos of The Education Fund's Food Forests for Schools explore how Miami-Dade schools are turning outdoor spaces into living classrooms, places where students grow, harvest, and share their own food while learning how ecosystems work and why caring for the land matters. Drawing on more than a decade of program experience, this keynote looks at what happens when a generation of South Floridians grows up seeing productive landscapes as normal, and what that could mean for how we understand food, land, and home.
