U Sustain Clinic

The U Sustain Clinic, an interdisciplinary initiative of the University of Miami's Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy, in partnership with the School of Architecture's Center for Urban and Community Design advances social, economic and environmental sustainability in the Greater Miami area by connecting students, faculty and local clients in support of sustainable policies and projects in the region. Resilience and Sustainability

The University of Miami offers Sustainability and Resilience focused courses in all majors, schools and colleges. Explore your options by visiting the Sustainability in the Curriculum site. The Climate Resilience Institute offers the course "Climate Resilience: A Multi-Faceted Approach" that intends to train undergraduates in collaborative approaches to climate adaptation.

Lakeside Village compost!

The compost site in the Sustainability Garden is open to all. If the garden is too far, you can drop your veggie scraps ziploc in the Compost fridge located in the Food Pantry, LSV Room 1054, behind Lobby A. Learn more

 
Reuse, reuse!

This Fall, UM Dining, Green U and ECO Agency are partnering to offer FREE stainless utensil sets to students. Pass by those three locations (Centennial Village Dining Hall; Corner Deli; Sushi Maki), and just ask for a set. Remember to keep it handy to use it, and reuse it!

Recycle Right!

DON’T THROW plastic bags in the recycling chutes/bins. INSTEAD, empty its content, and recycle your plastic bags in the white plastic bag recycling bin located in your residence's lobby. Watch our Recycling Right videos

 
ECO Solar Haven

Students can now study outside, under the shade of the ECO Solar Haven. This solar charging table can power eight laptops and eight mobile phones. It is located next to the entrance of the Cox Science building. The Solar Haven was sponsored by the Student Government ECO Agency. Learn more


 

Southern Loop Trolley
This Fall, the City of Coral Gables is relaunching its Southern Loop Trolley route. The free route will extend trolley service from the Douglas Road Metrorail Station to Red Road (Southwest 57th Avenue) via Ponce de Leon Boulevard, improving access to key destinations including the University of Miami, medical offices, schools and other community hubs.
