The Sustainability Scholar Program’s goal is for students to further incorporate sustainability into their curriculum and cultivate leadership skills in promoting sustainability on campus and beyond. Students are encouraged to think critically about what economic, environmental, and social factors advance or inhibit long-term sustainability goals. Solar Haven at Cox
Students can now study outside, under the shade of the ECO Solar Haven. This solar charging table can power eight laptops and eight mobile phones. It is located next to the entrance of the Cox Science building. The Solar Haven was sponsored by the Student Government ECO Agency. Learn more

Mangrove and Native planting
In collaboration with Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson who donated various mangrove seedlings and Law student Carly Costelly who donated native plants, ECO Agency is keeping on beautifying the restoration path along the canal located in front the Miami Herbert Business School. Learn more

The UM Tree Inventory is the result of a collaboration between Prof. Tim Norris, Chris Maden from the Frost Institute for Data Science and Computing, Office of Sustainability interns and coordinators, and Facilities - Grounds management. This map will serve as a foundation for educational and research development, as well as a tree care and maintenance tool for our grounds team. This Fall, student residents at University Village will be able to recycle glass containers: Collect your glass bottles and jars, and dispose of them safely in the secured Glass 4 Life cart located in the University Village Mailing room.
