The Higher Education Climate Leadership Summit, hosted by Second Nature and the Intentional Endowments Network, is the premier annual gathering of higher education leaders committed to addressing inequality and the climate crisis. The summit took place at the University of Miami this year, and all participants, from sustainability staff to leadership, engaged in a fruitful exchange—speaking to climate change challenges and how to collectively achieve carbon neutrality (read the News@TheU article). The Coral Gables and Marine Sustainability Dashboard allows the Office of Sustainability to track performance in energy, water, and carbon emissions, with other categories coming soon. Campus Race to Zero Waste is an annual competition among universities in the United States which measures and compares campus waste reduction efforts over an eight-week period from February 1 to March 28. ECO reps are leaders in peer-to-peer education on Sustainable Living for student residents.
