University of Miami has earned a STARS Gold rating in recognition of its sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). STARS, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System measures and encourages sustainability in all aspects of higher education. Come to our Green U Breakfast and Learn Summer sessions:

  • Coral Gables campus: Thursday, June 27 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at 1535 Levante Ave, room 137. Come discover how the City of Coral Gables came to be the first municipality in Florida to ban Polystyrene and plastic bags. Our speaker that day will be Matthew Anderson, Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Coral Gables.

U Conserve Summer Competition

On Monday, June 3rd, the Coral Gables campus buildings started competing for the top ten that will conserve the most energy. The winners will be invited to a special U Conserve luncheon in August!
