Dear Business and Finance Colleagues,

It is with a sad and heavy heart, together with your leaders in the Division of Business & Finance, I write to tell you of the sudden passing of Blanca Malagon’s daughter-in-law, Jeanette on Monday evening.

The picture below was taken 4 days ago. Baby Allison is only 3 WEEKS old. As many of you know, Blanca is more than a ‘Cane, she is an Iron Arrow Icon, the “Book of Truth” at UM, and a beloved colleague. We are heartbroken for her and her son and their entire family.

Many of you have already asked how you can help. I wanted to reach out and forward the GoFundMe information which was established for baby Allison. We are doing everything in our power to support Blanca and her family.
