Attached is a Test of the New e-Update Format
We will be sending out this sample newsletter to a small group of people to make sure that all of the kinks are out before we send the new and improved e-Update to the entire medical campus. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for improvement. Thank you.T-shirt Encourages, Guides Breast Self-Exam
If you’ve ever wanted to make a fashion statement that is actually good for your health, here’s your chance. The Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute at UM/Sylvester is partnering with Mark for Life, an Atlanta-based company, to raise awareness of the need for breast self-examinations in the battle against breast cancer. Mark for Life has created a breast self-exam T-shirt to help make it easier for women to take a more proactive role in the fight against this disease. Ten percent of all nationwide sales of the T-shirt will benefit the Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute. “We put a lot of work into developing this T-shirt and creating the perfect product,” said Stacie Linsky, president of Mark for Life. “And it was just as important to choose the right cancer center because breast cancer research is truly an important focus at the Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute.” October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer strikes more than 211,000 women each year in the United States, and more than 40,000 will die. But about 97 percent of women survive breast cancer when it’s discovered early. Research shows that women who perform regular breast self-exams find 70 percent of all breast cancer masses. The Mark for Life breast self-examination kit with patent-pending T-shirt are available for purchase online and at retail locations around the country for $24.99. Orders can also be placed by calling 877-512-LIFE (5433). | |
