Dear University of Miami Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce Jessica Brumley’s appointment as Vice President for Facilities Operations and Planning, effective January 1, 2018. In this role, Jessica will support the goals of the University by providing strategic vision, leadership, coordination and administrative oversight to services that enhance the academic, clinical and research experience of faculty, students, staff, patients, and the local community. She will oversee the departments of Real Estate, Campus Planning, Facilities Design and Construction, Facilities Administration, and Parking & Transportation.

Jessica is currently the Vice President of Facilities Management at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). She is responsible for a $140 million operations and capital budgets, delivering critical design, construction, acquisition, emergency management, environmental health and safety, security, and operational support to a 314-acre campus, as well as over 20 campuses, clinical locations and administrative sites throughout South Florida and Puerto Rico. During her tenure at NSU, she has developed more than 1.6 million square feet of classroom, clinical, office, and simulation spaces; implemented efficiencies in facilities management processes to improve service to the end user; worked with NSU’s leadership to develop a campus master plan that is aligned with their academic mission; master-planned a 30-acre campus in Tampa Bay; managed the design, construction, and operations of an $80 million, 215,000 square foot research facility with a vivarium; site-planned a 400-bed hospital, more than 25,000 square feet of medical office, and 1,500 parking spaces scheduled to break ground in 2017.

Jessica has lived in South Florida for 16 years and is excited to be part of the University of Miami family. I am sure she will be a tremendous asset and ask that you join me in welcoming her to the U.
