$6.5M Grant to Engage Students with Diverse Needs

Three professors in the Department of Teaching and Learning have received a $6.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to help teachers in Miami-Dade County Public Schools engage middle and high school students with high needs.

Advancing Aquaculture

A team led by Professor Daniel Benetti has been awarded nearly $1 million from the Florida Sea Grant program to spur aquaculture by advancing the technology for spawning and producing commercial red snapper, Nassau grouper or hogfish.

Students from Professor Carrie Bettinger-López’s International Human Rights Law and Advocacy class partnered with South Florida anti-poverty organizations to produce six reports on extreme poverty and human rights for the U.N. special rapporteur.
