Last month, we shared how to prioritize your brain’s health with good decision-making. Here are some additional tips to maintain your intellectual well-being.

What is Intellectual Well-Being

Expanding your personal collection of knowledge and applying it in your life.

Grow Your Intellectual Well-Being

Get academic assistance

  • Meet with a learning specialist at the Camner Center for Academic Resources to improve your note-taking, time management, and test-taking skills.
  • Attend your professor’s office hours to better understand your class content and prepare for upcoming exams.
  • If you live on campus, get to know your residential faculty who serve as resources and mentors.

Learn outside the classroom

  • Start reading for fun or find an educational podcast on an interesting topic, such as the Student Well-Being podcast.
  • Join a student organization like Scuba Club or Salsa Craze to learn something new with no previous experience necessary
  • At Outdoor Adventures, you can learn new skills or try rock climbing, which stimulates the problem-solving centers of the brain.

Do: Challenge Yourself

Playing games like crossword puzzles, trivia contests, or board games can challenge your mind while having fun.

And you've probably played the world-famous Wordle by now, but did you know you can create your own to send to a friend? Give it a try!
