This fall, Academic Technologies invites the academic community to register for the 2020 Faculty Showcase, hosted by Learning Innovation and Faculty Engagement, part of UM’s Platform for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (PETAL).
About the Faculty Showcase: The fall of 2020 has brought unprecedented challenges for higher education classrooms across the country, and the University of Miami is no exception. This year’s Faculty Showcase entirely online event will recognize faculty members’ efforts to adapt to the new teaching landscape, including hybrid, remote, and fully online teaching.
Call for Proposals (Deadline - Friday, September 25): We invite the University of Miami teaching community to submit proposals for 30 minute sessions that showcase effective or otherwise meaningful teaching strategies and success stories, including plans currently underway or evolving. We encourage proposals that focus on one or more of the following themes:
- Creating innovative and engaging hybrid and online courses
- Addressing racial and social justice issues in the classroom
- Encouraging dialogue and discussion among students
