UNITED WAY OF MIAMI-DADE
NEEDS
YOUR HELP NOW MORE THAN EVER
As the School of Medicine
United Way Campaign winds down, open your hearts to the needs of your South
Florida community. The economy's downturn has affected a number of community
programs, as the state has been forced to make considerable budget cuts. Many
people in South Florida have been impacted, from losing their jobs to experiencing
mental distress in the wake of the recent national tragedies. The good news
is that volunteerism is greater now than ever before. The United Way funds
many local organizations that help the less fortunate, and you can support
these initiatives with a donation to the campaign. Support School of Medicine
departments that are holding special fundraisers or contact your own department's
United Way ambassador to find out how you can make a donation and make a difference.
