CDC REPORTS ON INVESTIGATION,
PREPARATION,
AND OTHER ISSUES OF ANTHRAX EXPOSURE
The October 26 Morbidity
and Mortality Weekly Report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) offers valuable information on the investigation of anthrax cases around
the country, and it is available for viewing on the CDC's web site at http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr.
The report is a resource for epidemiologists, clinicians, and researchers,
who are encouraged to review its content in preparation for potential responses
to cases of anthrax exposure. Included in the report are a synopsis of the
documented cases, guidelines for post-exposure treatment, descriptions of
each clinical form of anthrax, and additional issues regarding the intentional
release of biological agents.
