Dear University of Miami Family,

Gratitude can be expressed in many ways.

A true community is interdependent – offering help and gratitude for one another. This year, I’ve seen the UM community show compassion for fellow ‘Canes, for our South Florida community, and for the world. From a warm welcome for our newest ‘Canes, to a life-saving heart transplant, to working through the challenges caused by Hurricane Irma and cheering on our first-time ACC Coastal Division champion Miami Hurricanes this season, you have shown what it means to be thankful in action.

I am inspired by the spirit of how you work, live and compete together. And I am grateful to be a part of this energetic community as it enters its next chapter of leadership in the world.

Each of you brings talent and dedication that makes the University of Miami so extraordinary. Thank you for bringing your heart to your work at the U.
